Pendleton - The Pendleton Heights Arabians volleyball team made it to the county championship to face Madison-Grant, the reigning Madison County Champs.
But there would be no dethroning during the title game Saturday, Sept. 14, at Elwood.
Less than an hour after eliminating Lapel in the semi-finals, the Argylls and Arabians began play that did not last nearly as long as fans wanted. Madison-Grant retained its county title, taking out the Arabians in two games 25-21 and 25-18.
“I personally think we had a lot of our own errors,” coach Stephanie Ammirata said. “Our service needed to be better. We couldn’t get passed where they needed to be, and I think that was our main detriment. Our setters were kind of scrambling.”
