PHHS softball: Ladies feel season’s first sting of defeat

Pendleton - The Pendleton Heights Arabian softball team went into last week ranked second in Class 4A. They played five games, three against other state-ranked teams. At the end of the tough week, the Arabians had won two, but lost three games, their first losses of the season.

On Saturday, April 27, the Arabians hosted third-ranked Center Grove. The Arabians held a 4-2 advantage until the Trojans tied the game with two runs in the seventh inning, sending the game to extra innings. At the end of 12 innings, the Trojans scored one, taking a 5-4 lead and the win, after the Arabians were unable to score in the 12th inning.
