PHMS cheerleaders win state, varsity action heats up

Pendleton - For the second year in a row, the Pendleton Heights Middle School cheerleading squad won the Indiana State Cheer competition at Westfield High School on Saturday, Oct. 26.

In other cheerleading news, the varsity preliminary round of state competition of the 2013 Indiana Cheer Championship is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at Pendleton Heights High School.

Varsity teams will compete at one site. The competition is divided into five sessions with the Pendleton Heights division competition beginning at 8 p.m. and the Arabians competing at 8:12 p.m. No awards are presented at this contest, but a ceremony will take place to announce the teams advancing to the State Finals.

The advancing teams will compete Nov. 9 at Southport H.S.
