Pendleton - Several Pendleton Heights track and field athletes advance to regional competition, but the Arabians fell short of a sectional title Thursday, May 17, at Mt. Vernon High School.

The Marauders captured the title with 190.50 points with the Arabians in second with 141 points. However, the Arabians did take first place in six events.

Kaleb Newell was a double winner in the shot put with a throw of 47-05 and in the discus with a toss of 147-02. Sam Bayliss and Brandon Smith took individual titles in the 800- and 3,200-meter races. Bayliss ran the 800 in 2:0.15, while Smith paced the field in the 3,200 with a time of 10:09.39. Zach Taylor won the 200 dash in 23.07.

Bayliss, Colby Knecht, Taylor and Jordan McCool won the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:27.14.
