Pendleton - The Pendleton Police Department is officially home to one additional full-time patrolman, growing the force to eight full-time officers.

Former Reserve Officer Josh Blake, 31, has returned to the PPD after leaving the department in 2009.

“I never wanted to leave,” Blake said. “But they just weren’t hiring at the time.”

Blake, who spent 2007-9 in Pendleton as reserve before leaving to take a full-time position with the Elwood Police Department, started his patrols locally Thursday, Jan. 3.
