Pendleton - With summer already drawing to a close, the Pendleton YMCA is also finishing its first summer of serving the residents of the area.

Director Casey Rowlett has overseen the summer programs with enthusiasm and found them to be well received in the community.

This year, the facility focused on youth fitness classes and mini camps.

“They really went well,” Rowlett said. “We focused less on changing our exercise programs and more on programming for the kids.”

This summer’s classes for children averaged about 15 per class.
