Pendleton - The town of Pendleton will have to wait a bit longer to create 13 historic signs throughout the community after the Madison County Council officially distributed Food and Beverage monies at a special meeting on Thursday, Dec. 27.

Pendleton Town Council Member Robert Jones said the town only received 10 percent of its original request.

“Unfortunately, we did not get all that we had asked for,” Jones said. “Orginally, we had asked for $35,500, but we ended up getting 10 percent of that.”

Pendleton was given $3,050 for the creation and installation of 13 historic signs, which the town hoped would increase tourism and encourage economic growth in the community.
