Pendleton - The recently installed driving range at the Fall Creek Golf Course has been so successful that it has made back its purchase price just a few months.
“Things have been going really, really well,” FCGC Pro Jimmy Phillips said. “We took in enough for it to pay for itself already, so the rest of the year is just us making additional money.”
Earlier this spring, the Pendleton Town Council agreed to purchase used equipment for a driving range at a cost of $7,800. The new range was installed in March and open by April. Phillips said by the end of August, the range had paid for itself.
“We sold our first bucket of balls on April first,” Phillips said. “And the range paid for itself sometime in August.”
Phillips said he was happy to have the range at the course, and that many community members have been taking advantage of the facility.
