Pendleton - The Pendleton Police Department confirmed that an arrest had been made by the Madison County Sheriff’s Department in connection to a threat aimed at Pendleton Heights Middle School.

PPD Chief Marc Farrer said that while he was not aware of the charges at this time, the County had arrested a PHMS student earlier this afternoon.

“They were able to track the IP address to the home of a seventh grade boy,” Farrer said. “He is a middle school student at PHMS and the police are just getting ready to chat with him soon.”

The arrest comes after police were notified last night, Tuesday April 8 of an account Instagram account with the name of THE_PHMS_KILLER. It was shut down yesterday evening after police began their investigation.

In the bio area of the account, it said an anonymous killer would “kill PHMS students everyday… one by one. Will you be the next death? Who am I? Once I get to 25 followers I will start my killing spree.”

“We’ll know more soon,” Farrer said. “But right now, at least the student has been caught.”
