The Pendleton Police Department investigated the following cases recently:
Monday, Oct. 29
7:51 p.m., Michael Surber, 36, Anderson, was charged with Driving While Suspended-Prior. According to police reports, an officer clocked a vehicle traveling 39 mph in a 20 mph zone in the 500 block of North Pendleton Avenue. A records check found Surber’s license was suspended with prior convictions. The vehicle was towed and the driver cited for speeding and DWS-prior.
Thursday, Nov. 8
5:31 p.m., Shasta R. Slagal, 34, Pendleton, was charged with Driving While Suspended-prior. According to police reports, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with expired plates. The driver said her license and insurance were not valid. She said she had no choice but to drive because she had to pick up her young children. She said she had been eligible to reinstate her license but could not afford it. The vehicle was towed. She was cited for DWS-prior and operation of vehicle without proof of financial responsibility.
