Pendleton - South Madison Schools will offer summer school for elementary students later this year. Director of Instruction and Staff Development Laura Miller presented the information to the school board.
Students who do not pass the state mandated IREAD-3 program, a test that measures foundational reading standards through third grade that requires students to pass before moving on to fourth grade, will be able to take remedial classes during the summer and take the test again.
“Our principals will be contacting parents on April 1 and 2 when we get back from school,” Miller said.
