Pendleton - A youthful Pendleton Heights girls tennis squad stormed to a Madison County Tournament title last week, closing it out with a 5-0 win at Frankton Friday, April 18.
Sophomore Emma McCardwell won her No. 1 singles match 6-3, 6-0, as she, like her team, moved to 5-0 on the year.
Junior Carly Wilson followed suit at No. 2 singles, winning 6-4, 6-1, and freshman Sam Hammel posted a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles.
The No. 1 twin-sister pair of juniors Aubrey and Kayleigh Corn were 6-1, 6-2 to the good. At No. 2 doubles, sophomores Haley Augsburger and Brandy Stoker earned a 7-6, 6-2 victory.
