Markleville - For area children, it’s a well-known fact that Santa always visits Christmas in Markleville. Event organizer Jan Fox said all indications seem to point to Santa visiting the Hardy Building during the upcoming event.

“Of course, Santa will be there,” Fox said. “He comes every single year.”

The 10th annual Christmas in Markleville event is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Hardy Building on Ind. 38.

Sponsored by the Markleville Lions Club, the event is about more than just Santa, who will be arriving at 11 a.m. and meeting with children until 1 p.m.

“In addition to Santa, there will be booths and a chili supper,” Fox said.
