New Christmas in Pendleton event coordinator jumps in head first

For Cayla Truman, the freshman event coordinator for Christmas in

Pendleton, taking on the largest event in town has been an eye-opening

experience.

“I’ve been working on this event since June,” Truman said. “I had no

idea how much work goes into putting together this event. It’s like

having two full-time jobs. It’s insane, but it’s been such an awesome

experience I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”

After Bonnie Clark, the former longtime event coordinator, handed in

her resignation last year to spend more time with her family, the

Pendleton Business Association set out to find a new leader.

Ultimately, the group hired Truman, a 25-year-old from Pendleton with

a recent bachelor's degree in marketing from Ball State University.
