Lapel - Tonight’s town hall-style public meeting regarding a proposed annexation by the City of Anderson is scheduled for tonight – and has not been affected by the recent dose of winter weather.
Former County Commissioner Paul Wilson, who organized the meeting, said it will start at 6:30 p.m. today (March 6) as planned. It will take place at the Trinity Life Center, which is located at the corner of Ind. 38 and 13, near Lapel.
“I’ve been told the street crews think they’ll have everything caught up by then,” Wilson said. “The meeting is still on.”
Several elected officials, including Anderson Mayor Kevin Smith, South Madison Community School Corp. President Chris Boots, and representatives from the County Commission, and Pendleton and Lapel town councils, are planning to attend.
The church is located inside the 17-square-mile proposed annexation area southwest of Anderson. The area is includes parts of Green, Stony Creek and Fall Creek townships.
