Pendleton - Despite a season-ending loss, PH football coach Broughton said he is proud of his team.

“We were 8-3 and at the beginning of the year, people were saying we would be lucky to be .500.”

Mt. Vernon pummeled the Arabians 54-34 Friday, Oct. 26, thrusting the Marauders into the Sectional 13 championship game.

In PH’s initial matchup with Mt. Vernon Sept. 14, the Marauders led early 9-7, and then scored 49 unanswered points en route to a 58-26 triumph on Pendleton’s homecoming night.

MV running back Tyler Dicks was limited (one carry, 12 yards) in that contest with a groin injury, but made his presence felt right from the start Friday.
