Pendleton - After adding a program director to its staff last year, the Pendleton Parks Department has started to plan several additional events at Falls Park for the community, including a sports competition, an unusual obstacle course and a family fun day.

“We’re really trying to bring some new events to the park,” Program Director Adam Christenson said. “This is about bringing more activity to the area.”

Christenson said the parks department has announced three events for the spring and summer so far, and while it costs money to participate, good times should be had by all who attend.

“First, we have a softball tournament scheduled for April 5,” Christenson said. “We’re calling it the Spring Swing. So far, we only have five teams signed up, so there is plenty of room for more players.”
