Markleville - Two vehicles ended upside down after a collision Thursday, July 11, south of Markleville. According to Madison County Sheriff Ron Richardson, Randy Short 59, of Anderson was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox north on CR 300E and was stopped at CR 1100S, while Chelstie Smith, 22, Markleville, was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze east on CR 1100S approaching the intersection of CR 300E. Short proceeded north on CR 300E into the intersection, and Smith disregarded the stop sign, causing her vehicle to be struck in the passenger side. Both vehicles left the roadway and came to a stop inverted in a yard on the northeast corner of the intersection. Both drivers were transported by ambulance to St. Vincent Hospital in Anderson, Short for complaint of pain and Smith for a bruised hip. Assisting at the scene was the Adams Township Fire Department.
