Lapel - Getting ready for the town’s largest event of the year, the Lapel Community Association is putting the finishing touches on the Lapel Village Fair.
This year’s 24th annual fair is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 13 and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 14.
Event organizers with the community association, the group that has hosted the fair since its inception, said planning is going well and only a few vendor spaces are available.
“So far we’ve had no problems. We already have all the food vendor spots full,” LCA member Nancy Hinkle said. “But we still have a few booths available left for craft vendors.”
The two-day fair draws thousands of visitors for a wide range of community-themed events.
“We have some of the best food around,” Hinkle said. “It’s all homemade and wonderful and delicious.”
In addition to the 15-20 food vendors setting up shop in Lapel for two days, Hinkle said other highlights include a church fish fry, club breakfasts, tenderloin meals, chicken and noodle dinners and strawberry shortcake deserts.
There will also be about 100 vendors making their way to downtown, in addition to several Village Fair events.
