With the new season of Arabian athletics more than six weeks away, there is plenty of sports action around the area to feed your need for action.

While a Pendleton sports pass is a bargain to catch high quality athletics, other low cost athletics offer thrills for everyone.

The Indiana Fever WNBA — 2012 WNBA champs, the best professional women’s team in the country — began play a few weeks ago.

Injuries to several key players such as Tamika Catchings and Katie Douglas have definitely hurt the Fever in the win/loss column.

However, they are an exciting team to watch, and the promotions offered to fans should not be ignored. Several games during the season are Family Nights, which means tickets start at $19, but included in the price is a hot dog, chips, a drink and a T-shirt. Also they offer several game nights that are two-for-one tickets. It has definitely been proven that girls can play great basketball, and the Fever are worth taking a drive to Indy.
