Elizabeth A. (Main) Hoppes, 85, of Pendleton passed away at Community Northview Care Center in Anderson on April 15, 2011. She was born in Henry County, Indiana July 8, 1925 and was a lifelong Pendleton resident.

Elizabeth was employed at the Indiana State Reformatory in Pendleton for over 30 years retiring as an accountant in 1985. She was a 1943 graduate of Pendleton High School. She was a member of Pendleton Christian Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Elizabeth and her late husband enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe. They wintered in Mesa, Ariz. for several years. She especially loved and enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her sons, Kenneth (Beth) Hoppes of Pendleton and Roger (Michelle) Hoppes of Markleville; four grandchildren, Andrea (Todd) Mossoney, Kari (Chris) Nodine, Landon (Megan) Hoppes, and Kayte Marie Hoppes; four great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Jared, and Samuel Mossoney, and Joshua Nodine; a sister, Sara (Hersil) Miller of Louisville, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond E. Hoppes; and her parents, Lawrence and Bernice (Crabill) Main.

Visitation was from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, April 18. at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, Pendleton. Private services were held Tuesday, April 19, at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastors Lowell Blackwell and Steve Austin officiating.
