Donald W. Helterbrand, 82, Lapel, died Sunday, May 29, 2011, at Riverwalk Village in Noblesville following a brief illness. He was born on March 16, 1929, in Fishersburg, Ind. to Sherman and Ruth (Crist) Helterbrand.
He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Ellis of Noblesville; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard (Donna) Helterbrand of Lapel; and two sisters, Patsy (Paul) Fort of Lapel and Nila Bilbrey of Lapel.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joyce (McAvoy) Helterbrand; daughter, Debbie Totten; a son, Ed Helterbrand; and a sister, Lena Smiley.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2011, at Brookside Cemetery in Lapel with Pastor Dawn Cuthbert officiating and burial will follow. There will be no visitation.
