PENDLETON — The Pendleton Heights boys basketball team presented Kim McDermott with a check for $3,000 at the Friday, Jan. 20, game vs. Rushville. Funds were raised during an “I Fight for Kim” fundraiser, during which there were T-shirts sales and raffles, with proceeds to help pay for medical expenses. Players Mark Albers and Karsten Windlan shared kind words and memories about McDermott with the crowd and gave her a hug. The Pendlleton Heights student spirit section wore purple, and many students and parents wore “I Fight for Kim” T-shirts. McDermott is the mother of Chayce McDermott, a Pendleton Heights senior, and Sean McDermott, a Pendleton Heights graduate.
