Lapel boys, girls drop track outing to Hamilton Heights

ARCADIA — A brother-sister duo combined to win five events Tuesday, but it wasn’t enough for Lapel as the Bulldogs dropped a unified track meet at Hamilton Heights.

Senior Hunter Loller brought home first-place finishes in the 100-meter dash (11.38), 400 dash (53.28), and was joined by Tobin Metzger, Jakob Addington and Dawson Ayers on the winning 4X400 relay team with a time of 3:48.82.

The Bulldog boys dropped the meet to the Huskies by a 71-51 score.

Other winners for Lapel included Luke Combs (1,600 run), Addington (800 run), Jesse McCurdy (3,200 run) and Ayers (long jump). The boys 4X800 relay team of Luke Rich, McCurdy, Killian O’Connor and Addington also finished first with a time of 9:22.35.

On the girls side, it was sophomore Noelle Loller who collected a pair of wins. She placed first in the 1,600 with a time of 6:03.51 and in the 800 at 2:47.50.

The girls fell to the Huskies in the team competition 87-35.

Sophomore Lauren Smith collected the only other first place finish for Lapel with a win in the 3,200 run in 13:25.92. Smith also placed second in the 1,600 behind Loller.

Sophomore Paige Rich had two runner up finishes in the 300 hurdles and the high jump.

The Bulldogs will close out their regular season with their Senior Night on May 11 against Blue River Valley and Sheridan.
