LAPEL — Lapel and Anderson passed the lead back and forth, but in the end, it was an eight-run inning that did in the Bulldogs.

Tied at nine entering the seventh, Anderson put eight runs on the board and held off a Bulldog rally in the bottom of the inning to hand Lapel a 17-14 defeat Wednesday, May 17.

The Anderson explosion came after Levi Frazier had tied the game in the sixth for Lapel with a two-out, two-run home run. It was the second homer of the game for the Bulldogs, John Sherwood homered in the first inning for a 1-0 Lapel lead.

Frazier led the Lapel offense with three hits total while Sherwood and Cameron Holycross each had a pair of hits.

Lapel will play host to Alexandria-Monroe Friday, May 19, for Senior Night before two more home games against Lawrence North Saturday morning and Elwood Monday evening to conclude the regular season.
