TNA support group to meet

PENDLETON — The FPA-TNA Trigeminal Neuralgia Support Group of Central Indiana is scheduled to meet at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 3, at Trinity Life Center, 5900 State Road 13 South.

It will be a sharing meeting, during which individuals can talk about their experiences with TN and meet others who have experienced the terrible pain of TN.

Trigeminal neuralgia, also known as Tic douloureux, is often caused by a compression or damage to the trigeminal nerve. The nerve is the largest cranial nerve, and the pain usually affects only one side of the head and/ or face, although there are cases where both sides are affected. The shock-like searing, stabbing pain appears suddenly and is described as the most excruciating pain known to man. It is estimated that 1 in 125,000 people have TN.

The support group aims to bring TN sufferers together to talk and share, and educate people about TN through presentations, videos and more.

For more details, contact Kathleen Hays, support group leader, at [email protected] or phone 765-534-5053.
