MADISON COUNTY — They finally got to turn their tassels and toss their caps in celebration after years of hard classroom and other school work.

Area seniors from Lapel High School and Pendleton Heights High School graduated this weekend and stepped into the next chapter of their young lives.

Lapel seniors said so long Saturday, June 2, during an evening ceremony, while Pendleton Heights seniors said their goodbyes Sunday, June 3, during an afternoon program.

The Pendleton Heights valedictorian was Kate Cowger, the salutatorian was Andrew Jamison and class president was Jessica MacMillan.

The Arabians’ Class of 2018 class motto was “Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.”

Lapel had three co-valedictorians: Mya Thomas; her brother, Andrew Thomas; and Joseph Conrad. The 2018 class president was Ray Scherer.

The Bulldogs’ Class of 2018 class motto was “Every ending is the beginning of something new.”
