Drug prevention summit coming up

Intersect, in partnership with the Children’s Bureau, will play host to the third annual East Central Indiana Drug Prevention Summit on Tuesday, Sept. 18, at the Madison Park Church of God, 6607 Providence Lane, Anderson.

This summit is being sponsored by Community Hospital-Anderson, St.Vincent Ascension Health-Anderson and Madison Health Partners, as well as other agencies and businesses.

The summit will start at 7:45 a.m. for registration and check-in and run through 4:30 p.m.

Committees of community individuals have planned a packed agenda, including four national speakers who will address mental health and addiction, community engagement and substance use prevention efforts.

Addiction has touched our local communities, our state and the nation, and this is a way for teachers, law enforcement, clergy, school personnel, addiction and mental health providers, judicial and law enforcement professionals, minorities, elected officials, youth-serving organizations, health professionals and others to come together to hear the same information and work together toward the same goals.

Early bird registration runs until July 18 for a fee of $25. The registration fee after that will be $35 through Sept. 10. Late registration will be $50.

For more details on registration or sponsorship, contact the Intersect office at 765-683-0452 or [email protected].
