Pendleton man found dead

NOBLESVILLE — Police are looking for the public’s help in solving a death investigation after a Pendleton man was found dead in a ditch northeast of Noblesville.

At about 3:15 p.m. Friday, April 24, Hamilton County sheriff’s deputies found the a body of a man — later identified as David Fouts, 50, Pendleton — within the 21500 block of Overdorf Road.

“Detectives along with the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office are treating this Investigation as a homicide and do not believe the victim died at this location,” according to the initial press release about the incident.

The sheriff’s department’s investigations division identified the body through fingerprint records as Fouts, of the 7400 block of South Woodrow Drive, Pendleton.

Fouts has ties to a residence in the 16500 block of East 196th Street, Noblesville, according to the release.

Hamilton County Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy, and the findings were pending at press time.

“If you have seen, spoken with or have had contact with Mr. Fouts, in the last week, that is between April 17, 2020 … to April 24, 2020, or if you have any information that would be valuable to us in this death investigation, we ask that you contact us,” Hamilton County Sheriff Dennis Quakenbush II said in a video posted online about the incident.
