ANDERSON

Born April 2, 1926 in Brighton Indiana, Joan was the daughter of Goldie Mae Miller Koch and Hubert Miller. She grew up in Indiana and lived a full and busy life.

She married Roy Rankin on December 28, 1946.

You could find Roy and Joan at the Brown Hotel in Louisville, their favorite hangout.

Joan and Roy welcomed their son Bill into the world on December 9, 1962.

When Bill was 12 years old, they experienced a tragic loss of her husband Roy. Joan took pride in raising Bill and going to all of his football games and supporting him in all he did.

Their family grew in 2007 when Bill married Devona Raisor Rankin. Joan became a grandmother to Destiny (Scott) and T.J. (Jennifer) and a great grandmother to Haley, Sophia, Layton and Tinley.

Joan was a very active lady. She was involved in a bowling league for many years where she was the treasurer and an avid golfer until the age of 87 at Idlewold Golf and Country Club.

In August of 2020, Joan came to Kentucky to live closer to Bill, Devona and the kids and grandkids.

In September Joan lost Bill unexpectedly.

Her family is now together again.

She was loved by many and will be missed by all.

Funeral services for Joan will be at 1:00 PM at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 East 53rd Street in Anderson. Burial will follow in Grove Lawn Cemetery in Pendleton. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
