Wendell Eugene Vaughn, 82, of Pendleton, Indiana, passed away on May 10, 2021, at Community Heart & Vascular Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on Aug. 23, 1938 in Wayne County, Kentucky to the late Theo and Minnie (Abbott) Vaughn.
Wendell had worked as a machinist at Schwitzer Corp. for 22 years. He was baptized at Lick Creek Baptist Church in Ritner, Kentucky and attended various churches throughout his life. He enjoyed gardening, yard work and time with his family.
He is survived by his children, Kim (Mark) Hanshew, Kevin (Karla) Vaughn; grandchildren, Andrew (Ashley) Hanshew, Luke (Emily) Vaughn, Logan Vaughn; great grandchildren, Hadleigh and Reagan Hanshew, Elodie Vaughn; siblings, Conley (Carol) Vaughn, Ronnie (Patty) Vaughn, Frank (Rose) Vaughn, Wayne (Lisa) Vaughn and Kenney Vaughn; sisters-in-law, Lin (David) Garretson, Trisha Thompson; brothers-in-law, Randy (Rhonda) Thompson and Mike Nichols.
Wendell was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margie Vaughn; siblings, Carlos Vaughn, Mary Vaughn, Ethel Vaughn, Wanda Nichols and Glenna Vaughn; and brother-in-law Bud Thompson.
