Melissa A. Stanton, 49, died Monday, May 10, 2021, at Kosciusko Community Hospital after battling a long-term illness.
She was born April 17, 1972, in Corbin, Kentucky to Kenneth and Annabelle (Slack) Beckett. They preceded her in death.
On Sept. 3, 2016, she married Barry Stanton at First United Methodist Church Life Center, Goshen.
He survives along with her daughters, Karoline Fowler, North Manchester, and Abbigail Fowler, Jimtown; a grandson, Jackson Burgess; and a sister, Stacia Patarino, Franklin.
Melissa was a member of First United Methodist Church and worked as a licensed practical nurse. She enjoyed being a 4-H mother; spending time in the swimming pool; and was an avid zipliner. Her greatest joy in life was being a grandmother to Jackson.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Friday, May 14, prior to the 2 p.m. Celebration of Life service, at the First United Methodist Church Life Center, 1212 W. Plymouth Ave., Goshen. Pastor Diana Siegel will officiate.
According to Melissa’s wishes, cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory, Goshen.
