Arabians earn All-HHC honors

PENDLETON — Hoosier Heritage Conference recently released all-league teams for girls tennis, softball and baseball.

Many Pendleton Heights Arabians earned the conference’s high honor.

In girls tennis, junior Abby Cruser was named to the singles team.

Cruser was one of six players selected to the group.

This season, Cruser played No. 1 singles for the Arabians. She had an overall record of 16-3 and was 6-1 in conference matches.

As a team, Pendleton Heights finished 8-10 overall (2-5, HHC).

In softball, seniors Kylie Davis and Grace Scott and junior Kieli Ryan were a part of the 20-player team.

Davis, the team’s shortstop, hit a team-high .485 with 16 doubles, four home runs and 26 RBI.

Scott led the team with 11 home runs and 37 RBI. She hit .398 and also had nine doubles.

Ryan had a .465 batting average, eight doubles, nine homers and 34 RBI.

The Arabians finished in a three-way tie for third with a 4-3 conference record. They were 19-11 overall.

Sophomore Ricky Howell and junior Ryan Graham were among 21 standouts named to the All-HHC baseball squad.

Howell was the team’s No. 1 pitcher. He was 4-3 with a 2.22 earned run average. In 63 innings pitched, he had 64 strikeouts and gave up just 49 hits.

Graham, the Arabians’ leadoff hitter and left fielder, hit .309 and had team-highs in hits (30), runs scored (21) and stolen bases (13).

Pendleton Heights finished third in the conference with an 8-6 record. The Arabians were 16-16 overall.
