PENDLETON — Pendleton Artists Society announced winners of its Blend Show during a recent show opening at Gallery 119 in Pendleton.

The ongoing Blend Show showcases the combined talents of two artists in making a joint piece of art.

Brenda Jarrett and Kitty Myers won first place with “Cyanotype Photo On Stoneward.”

Taking second place were Sherry Boram and Karen Zane with “Gourd and Fiber Art,” while Larry and Sherry Boram placed third with “Oak/Mahogany Ukulele and Case with Fiber Lining.”

Vic Eichhorn and Jerry Wymer won the People’s Choice Award, as voted on by those attending the show opening, as well as an Honorable Mention for “Copper Orchids,” a copper and metal piece.

Joel and Diane Burrell earned a Merit Award with their “Etched Copper and Enamel Vases.”

The show will continue through Aug. 31 at the gallery, 119 W. State St., Pendleton. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.

South Madison Visual Art Show

The 2021 South Madison Visual Art Show is set for Sept. 3-29 at Gallery 119, 119 W. State St., Pendleton. The show is open to artists who are residents of South Madison (Green, Stony Creek, Adams and Fall Creek townships) and are 21 or older. There are no entry fees and prize money will be awarded to Best of Show ($250), Second Place ($150) and Peoples Choice ($100). Entries are due Aug. 24 to Sept. 1. The exhibit is made possible through the South Madison Community Foundation Arts Fund. This fund was established by the children of Robert E. and Vinetta A. Wills, in honor of their mother, Vinetta Airman Wills, and is hosted by our local Tri Kappa chapter. The purpose of the fund is to recognize people with artistic talent through monetary reward and public recognition.
