LAPEL — Tonya Alice Strange, 55, of Pendleton, passed away Oct. 20, 2021, at her home in Lapel surrounded by her family.
A celebration of life will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Nov. 14, 2021, at Pendleton Masonic Lodge, Pendleton, Indiana.
Tonya was born in Greenfield, Indiana, to Terry and Marilyn Strange on Dec. 21, 1965. She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, aunt, Memaw and friend. Her grandchildren were the love of her life. She went to school at Pendleton Heights. Tonya farmed for many years.
She loved supporting her teams, the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs. She also enjoyed NASCAR and was a fan of Dale Earnhardt and Dale Jr. She loved monster trucks, cars and rock music. Her favorite actor was John Wayne.
Tonya is preceded in death by her father, Terry T. Strange; all her grandparents; several aunts and uncles; and Cary W. Scott.
Tonya is survived by her mother, Marilyn Strange of Pendleton; son Chad Scott of Pendleton; brother Terry (Juli) Strange of Shirley; sisters Tamera (Dave) Turner of Lapel and Tiffany (Aaron Coleman) Hampton of Ingalls; nephews T.J. (Megan) Strange of Indianapolis, John (Britni) Strange of Pendleton, Taylor (Kayla Kirkman) Strange of Anderson, Zachary (Brielle Auler) Hampton of Ingalls, Logan (McKayla) Hampton of Pendleton and Cobain and Carter Coleman; grandchildren Cameron and Cayden Scott; great-nephews Hudson Strange, Colton Hampton and Walker Strange; a great-niece, Alivia Strange; and her beloved pet, Shelby.
