Pendleton Heights Class of ‘22 Top 10%, Take 1

PENDLETON — Pendleton Heights High School recognizes the Top 10 Percent of its graduating class each year.

There are 35 students in that group for the Class of 2022. The countdown begins this week with Nos. 35 to 29. It will continue through several editions of The Times-Post.

Jonathon Leonard is currently ranked No. 35 with a grade-point (GPA) average of 11.913. He is the son of Jacqueline and David Leonard. Jonathon has participated in French Club and choir. He enjoys singing, art and video games. He plans on attending Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis to study game design and development, where he would ultimately like to make video games.

Alex Coon is currently ranked No. 34 with a GPA of 11.9434. He is the son of Ryan and Julie Coon. Alex has been an active member of the Beta Club and likes to play video games and golf. He plans on attending Ball State University to study computer science. His goal is to become a software engineer.

Mamie Long is currently ranked No. 33 with a GPA of 11.9636. She is the daughter of Amanda Long. Mamie has participated in Unified Track, Best Buddies, Pendleton Players, National Thespian Society, Spanish Club, National Honor Society, Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) and Bring Change to Mind. She also has been the volleyball manager and very active in her church youth group. Long plans to attend Hanover College to earn her bachelor’s degree in pre-law and minor in Spanish. She hopes to become an elder law and special needs attorney.

Olivia Wright is currently co-ranked No. 31 with a GPA of 12. She is the daughter of Rachel and Michael Wright. Throughout her high school career, Wright has been a member of the volleyball team and has been a member of Spanish Club, National Honor Society, Beta Club and Best Buddies. Outside of school, she enjoys shopping, attending sporting events, playing beach volleyball and traveling. Although Wright is unsure of where she would like to attend college, she plans to study business marketing as well as finance. Obtaining a minor is also a goal of hers. Olivia’s career aspiration is to work in financial planning or the business industry.

Caroline DeRolf is currently co-ranked No. 31 with a GPA of 12. She is the daughter of Clint and Nikki DeRolf. Caroline has been a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Student Council, class officer-secretary, Best Buddies, National Beta Club, National Honor Society Secretary, Bring Change to Mind and softball. She has been heavily involved with travel softball and her church. Wright’s future plans involve studying computer science at Anderson University with hopes of becoming a professional sports data analyst.

Sylvia Bobb is currently ranked No. 30 with a GPA of 12.04. She is the daughter of Lee and Lana Bobb. Bobb is a member of the National Honor Society, National Beta Club, Thespian National Honor Society, Pendleton Players and Best Buddies; she is the Bring Change to Mind treasurer and the artist for Muse Magazine. Her other interests include singing, art and working at Claire’s. Bobb plans to further her education. She has decided to study studio art and minor in marketing at the Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture and Design at Indiana University. She would like to hold a job where her creative talents can help others bring their ideas to life.

Casey Davidson is currently ranked No. 29 with a GPA of 12.0577. She is the daughter of Gary and Angela Davidson. Casey has been a part of the Thespian Society, National Honor Society, Concert Band, Marching Band and Winter Guard. She is proud of her involvement and accomplishments in tae kwon do and Female Eagle Scouts. Davidson intends to study national security or pre-med at Anderson University and is unsure of what career path she would like to follow.
