LAPEL — Lapel baseball and softball teams advanced to the second round of play in the Madison County Tournament on Tuesday, April 12, beating visitors Liberty Christian with identical scores of 10-0.

For the boys, Kyle Shelton was on the mound for five innings. He allowed just one hit and had six strikeouts and only one walk.

Brennan Stow went 3-for-3 at the plate with four RBI on two doubles and a single.

Jake Paska also went 3-for-3 with three singles. As a team, the Bulldogs had nine hits and no fielding errors.

The Bulldog boys play host to Anderson at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 14. The Indians defeated Elwood 11-1.

Krystin Davis pitched a no-hitter for the Bulldogs. The girls play host to Elwood at 5:30 p.m. Thursday as well. Elwood defeated Anderson 12-0.
