Pendleton Heights Class of ‘22 Top 10%, Take 4

PENDLETON — Pendleton Heights High School recognizes the Top 10 Percent of its graduating class each year.

There are 35 students in that group for the Class of 2022. The countdown continues this week with Nos. 14 to 8. It will continue through several editions of The Times-Post.

Grace McKinney is currently ranked No. 14 with a grade-point average (GPA) of 12.5345. She is the daughter of Brad and Jill McKinney. Throughout her high school career, Grace has been a member of Beta, National Honor Society, German Club, Steering Committee and Pendleton Players. She has also been a successful member of the swim and dive team earning multiple awards and recognitions. Outside of school, Grace is still very active in swimming and volunteering. She will attend DePauw University to study biochemistry and kinesiology with hopes of later obtaining a doctorate in pharmacy. Grace aspires to be a clinical or research pharmacist while also coaching swim.

Katherine Greene is currently ranked No. 13 with a GPA of 12.5417. She is the daughter of Joanna Greene and Stephen Greene. Katherine has been a member of Student Council, FFA, Muse, Beta and National Honor Society. Outside of school, she has been active in 4-H where she participated in fine arts and showed llamas. Katherine has narrowed down her options of what she will study between, astronomy, geology, archeology or studio arts. She has not yet decided which college she will attend but she would like to be a research scientist.

Isabel Blosser is currently ranked No. 12 with a GPA of 12.6327. She is the daughter of Rachel and Wayne Blosser. Isabel has been a member of Marching Band, swimming, Beta, National Honors Society, Pep Band, Team Awesome and Arabian Allies. Her involvements outside of school include Honor Band, 4-H and Pendleton Swim Club. She will be attending Colorado State University to major in English Literature and Secondary English. Isabel hopes to be a high school English teacher.

Andrew Davidson is currently ranked No. 11 with a GPA of 12.6939. He is the son of Sharli and Tim Davidson. Throughout high school, he has been a member of Student Council, National Honor Society vice president and Beta. Andrew is also actively involved in his church and youth group. Andrew will be attending the John Wesley Honors College at Indiana Wesleyan University in the fall with an undecided major. He wants to have an occupation that he enjoys.

Bailee Hilpisch is currently ranked No. 10 with a GPA of 12.74. She is the daughter of Brandon and Samantha Smith. During her high school career, she has been a member of Beta, Student Council, National Honor Society, Spanish Club, Pendleton Players, Thespians and National Honors Society. Outside of school, Bailee does competitive dance with Dance Fusion by KJ. In the fall, she will attend Indiana University to study chemistry and minor in Spanish. Bailee hopes to work in a chemical engineering area related to the medical field. Her ideal job would be to work in the pharmaceutical field to create safer medications.

Berkeley Lord is currently ranked No. 8 with a GPA of 12.7708. She is the daughter of John and Sue Lord. Berkeley has participated in cross country, Madison County Youth Leadership Academy, Bring Change to Mind, National Honor Society, Best Buddies and Beta. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys working out, reading, spending time with family and friends, and working at Community Sports and Wellness. Berkeley plans to attend Butler University to major in business management and double minor in entrepreneurship and innovation and finance. She hopes to use her education to open her own medically integrated health and fitness center that will work to empower individuals to take care of themselves both mentally and physically through ample support and resources.

Sean Tupps is currently ranked No. 8 with a GPA of 12.7755. He is the son of Stacey and Kevin Tupps. He has been an active member of Beta during his high school career. His other interests include juggling, playing piano and learning Portuguese. He is also active in his youth group. His plans are to attend Hanover College and study biochemistry. Sean’s goal is to become a physician.
