Girls tennis adds to its kudos

PENDLETON — The Pendleton Heights girls tennis team had a successful season but also earned honors off the court for the Arabians.

The team worked to finish the season with an 11-8 record and was the runner-up in the Madison County Tournament.

Recent graduate Abigail Cruser went 19-1 in her senior season and had an undefeated regular season at 18-0. Cruser was also named to the 2022 Academic All-State Team, the North/South Senior All-Star Cup, Hoosier-Heritage All-Conference and All-District 4 Singles team. Cruser, along with senior teammate Faith Bluel was named to the Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association Academic All-State.

Cruser will attend Ohio Northern University where she will play tennis and study forensic biology.

As a team, the varsity squad was named a Team Academic All-State with a GPA average of 3.1.

Members of that team are Seniors Jaima Link, Abigail Cruser, Faith Bluel, Abi Rosenkrans, Camile Spencer and Juniors Ellie Manchess, Josie Graves, Gia Thorsen and Jessica Thompson.
