Boys soccer seeks to ‘raise the standards’

PENDLETON — The Arabian boys soccer team returns some vital players this season, but with eight freshmen among the 36-man roster, youth will be a factor.

“We have strong upperclassmen, but we will be looking to young players to make some key contributions on the field,” coach Kyle Davy said.

Kam Kail, who led the team last year with 15 goals, is a top returnee for the Arabians.

Cole Bubalo will be instrumental working the ball through mid-field, and Gavin Busby, at center back, will be a key part of building a strong defensive unit.

Davy is seeing competitive action among the young and talented group.

“We had a share of the conference title last season, and we are looking to build off that success and take the next step as a program,” Davy said. “I’m looking forward to watching our guys come this season and raise the standards.”

Last season’s record: 10-7, shared first place in the Hoosier Heritage Conference

Returning players: Kam Kail, Cole Bubalo, Gavin Busby

Newcomers to watch: Greyson Hovermale, Wyatt DeBertrand
