PENDLETON — Pendleton Heights High School Student Council is preparing for Homecoming with a week full of activities.

“Homecoming 2022: At the Movies” begins with an inaugural Powder Puff volleyball game at 8:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19.

The annuual Extravaganza celebration, which includes four class competitions followed by a Powder Puff football game between the junior and senior girls, takes place at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, at the football stadium. Admission cost is $5.

Pendleton Heights 2022 Homecoming court includes Junior Representative Helen Wrin, Sophomore Representative Ian Chastain, Freshman Representative Parker Kline, and Senior Representatives Tra’mya Herndon, Ramsey Gary and Skyler Anderson.

On Friday, Sept. 23, the homecoming parade begins at 6 p.m. near the Community Building in Falls Park.

The parade winds through the park to Pendleton Avenue, heads south to State Street and then east to Arabians stadium.

The Homecoming Parade will include the PHHS Marching Arabians, along with high school, middle school and elementary clubs and athletic teams, cheerleaders, local junior soccer and football teams, the Madison County Shriners Desert Patrol, Scouts, Homecoming Royalty, class floats, fire trucks, churches and classic cars.

This year’s parade marshal is Will Kaster and the Pendleton rugby team.

Kaster was recently named 2022 Boys High School Player of the Year for Indiana. He was selected for his performance on the rugby pitch and also for his contributions to his community.

The Marching Arabians will perform their pre-game show with kick-off versus Mt. Vernon scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

The winning float and the 2022 Homecoming Royalty will be announced at halftime.

The 2022 Silver Anniversary Team, managers and trainers from the Class of 1998 will also be honored.

Senior members of the ‘96-’97 team under 21st year coach John Broughton were Scott Keiste, Aaron Adams, Paul Hathcoat, Justin Barnhart, Jason Cannaday, Trent Towne, Shane Davis, Bill Roscoe, Scott DeShong, Chad Stanley, Eric Martin, J.D. Arthur, Ryan Rummell and Brad Oster.

An “At the Movies” dance is planned for 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday in the Student Activity Center. Tickets cost $7 prior to Saturday and $10 that night.

Student Council sponsors who help to coordinate Homecoming are Alyson LaPlante, Lester Jackson and Principal Connie Rickert; the parade is organized by Cori Hunckler.
