PENDLETON — Pendleton Heights dropped its second consecutive game in a 64-57 loss against Lawrence Central on Saturday to fall to 6-6 on the season.

The two teams traded blows in the opening half.

Pendleton Heights jumped out to an 18-11 lead after the first quarter, but were limited to eight second-quarter points, allowwing the Bears to head into halftime down just one point, 26-25.

The third quarter decided things, and the Lady Arabians’ struggles continued.

After being out-scored by six points in the second quarter, Pendleton Heights fared similarly in the third, being out-scored 18-11.

While the offense came back alive in the fourth quarter to score 20 points, a back-and-forth final quarter wasn’t enough for the Lady Arabians to erase the six point deficit.

Kaycie Warfel led Pendleton Heights with 25 points, while Berkley Shelton and Whitney Warfel each added 11, Olivia Jones had eight, and Ava Kate Phillips rounded out the scoring with two.

The Lady Arabians played Wednesday night after press time against Hoosier Heritage Conference foe, Yorktown, and return to action Thursday, Dec. 29 at Jay County.
