PENDLETON — Pendleton Heights earned its second win of the season on Saturday with a 56-53 win against visiting Liberty Christian.

A slow start forced the Arabians to fight from behind.

They were outscored 19-15 in the first quarter, and eventually found themselves down by 15 points midway through the second quarter but were able to fight back and go into halftime down 34-25.

After halftime, the Arabians came out firing, outscoring the Lions 22-10 in the third quarter to take a 3-point lead into the closing quarter.

Both teams were limited to just nine points in the fourth quarter, allowing Pendleton Heights to hold on for the 3-point victory.

Josiah Gustin and Brayden Kanitz led the Arabians with 15 points each.

Following them were Evan Mozingo with 12, Reese Caplinger with six, Aaron Cookston with four, and Isaac Wilson with four.

Pendleton Heights played Tuesday against Heritage Christian (after press time) and return to action on Jan. 2 in the Madison County tournament.
