Credit union offers scholarships

NEW CASTLE — Eastern Indiana Federal Credit Union (EIFCU) is offering four “People Helping People” scholarships to graduating high school seniors in Henry, Delaware, Hancock and Madison counties.

“We believe pursuing educational goals should be attainable for everyone,” company President/CEO Leah Combs said in a press release. “This scholarship is our way of supporting the next generation of credit union members.”

The credit union is a not-for-profit credit union.

The scholarships provides $750 to four students who are attending public high school

Applicants must be members of EIFCU with an account in good standing.

High school students can open an account with a $5 deposit.

Scholarship funds may be used towards an undergraduate degree or a certification at an accredited college/university/trade school.

Criteria considered are academics, determination, community involvement and work history.

Scholarship applications and materials must be received by March 31.

Applications are available at the public high schools, and by pickup in the lobby at EIFCU, 801 S. Memorial Drive, New Castle, or via email per request to [email protected].
