Lapel Lions Club annual fruit sale is on
LAPEL — The Lapel Lions Club is now taking orders for fresh Florida citrus.
The cost of a 20-pound (2/5 of a bushel) of navel oranges or red grapefruit is $35. A 40-pound (4/5 of a bushel) of each is $45. The prices are the same as last year.

Orders must be placed by Saturday, Nov. 18.
The fruit will be available for pick-up at the Lions Building at 329 S. Main St., Lapel, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2.
Legion plans activities
PENDLETON — American Legion Post 117, 611 W. State St., Pendleton, plans the following events — open to members and non-members:
Friday, Nov 10 – DJ DEX/Karaoke, 8-11 p.m.
Saturday, Nov 11 – All You Can Eat Breakfast, 7:30-11 a.m.
Saturday, Nov. 18 – Legion Market, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Wednesday, Nov. 22 – Thanksgiving Eve – DJ DEX
Friday, Nov. 24 – DJ DEX/Karaoke, 8-11 p.m.
Regular events include:
All-you-can-eat wing night is scheduled for 5-8 p.m. Thursdays, with all-you-can-eat wings costing $12
Lunch specials (as well as regular menu) — starting at 11 a.m. weekdays
Treasure Hunt drawing takes place at 7:30 p.m. Fridays
Pool on Sunday — beginning at noon, no charge
People interested in playing on a tournament euchre team or pool team should call or stop by the post and talk to Dave or Haley.
The Legion’s general membership meeting is set for 6 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday each month.

PAS show, classes coming up
PENDLETON — Pendleton Artists Society’s 11th Annual Juried Show is on display through Dec. 23 at Gallery 119 in Pendleton.
PAS also plans the following art classes:
• Deco Clay/Reindeer Christmas Ornaments with Pam Rowley — 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 15. Participants will make two reindeer ornaments using deco-clay. Cost $15.
• Saturday Deco Clay/Stemmed Sunflower Class with Pam Rowley — 9:30 to 11 a.m. Nov. 18. Participants will make two stemmed sunflowers using deco clay. Cost: $15.
• Paint Bob Ross Style with Andy and Stephanie — 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 18. Instructors will teach the Bob Ross style of painting. Cost is $50 with all supplies included.
• Deco Clay/Poinsettia with Pam Rowley — 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 28 and/or Nov. 29. Participants in each class will make two poinsettias using deco clay. Cost is $15 each class.
Kids Class
Children’s Art Classes take place on the second Saturday each month. Each class is independent and will need its own registration.

County’s 200th finale at Paramount
ANDERSON — The Grand Finale of the Madison County Bicentennial year celebrations is set for 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10 — the 200-year anniversary to the day of the county’s formation — at the Paramount Theatre.
Musical performances by the Rock Bottom Boys and Austin Morgan, and a showing of a special documentary on the contributions of the black community to Madison County history, will highlight the event.
Guest speakers include Madison County Historian Stephen Jackson, the mayors of Madison County’s three cities — Alexandria, Anderson and Elwood — and a representative of the Madison County Commissioner’s Office.
Highlights of the bicentennial year will also be shown.
The event is free and open to the public.
