PENDLETON — Community Sports and Wellness in Pendleton recently hired Samantha Clark as director of youth and family programs in the center’s Indiana Premier Athletic Facility.
Clark, who graduated from Pendleton Heights High School in 2005, brings coaching and educational programming experience, as well as a passion for youth program development, to the 122,000-square-foot sport and fitness facility, according to a press release.
“I’m honored to help build a foundation of love for movement and wellness in our community,” Clark said. “I want to build an athletic space where everyone can find their fit.”
In her most recent prior job, Clark created an educational summer camp at Shenandoah Community Schools. The camp used a blended learning platform, helping students make up for educational gaps that resulted from a year of online learning.
She planned daily lessons in math, reading, writing, social and emotional learning, and incorporated physical activity to get children moving.
She also previously served as head cheerleading coach in 2009 at Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Missouri, and worked at Anderson Community Schools and Benbrook Middle/High School near Fort Worth, Texas.
Clark has a bachelor of science degree in business management from Missouri Valley College, and master’s degrees, one in educational leadership and another in business administration (MBA), from Western Governors University (Indianapolis).
Community Sports and Wellness is located at 395 S. Heritage Way, Pendleton.
    It is a membership- and
program-based sports venue with eight indoor, climate-controlled tennis courts, recreational gymnastics, tumbling, NinjaZone, six indoor pickleball courts, two basketball courts and a variety of group exercise classes.
