MADISON COUNTY — The Pendleton Heights girls hoops team will try to keep the winning ways going as the Arabians are in action at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, for a Hoosier Heritage Conference showdown against Shelbyville at home.

They have another home game, against Hamilton Heights, at 7:30 p.m. Wednes-day, Nov. 28.

Prior to those games, it was a fun weekend for Pendleton Heights as it had a Saturday, Nov. 17, showdown on the road at Frankton, where the Arabians were able to pick up the victory.

Pendleton Heights (5-1, 3-0) knocked off Frankton (3-2) on the Eagles’ home court for an Arabians double-win weekend. The victory moved the winning streak to four.

Kylie Davis led the Arabians with 18 points, including going 7-for-7 from the free-throw line. Aubree Dwiggins had 17 points, Megan Mills had 11 points, and Kailyn Graham had 9 points. Niyah Loomis chipped in with seven rebounds and added 2 points. Leonie Wilson had 6 points, and Brynn Teague rounded out the scoring with 4.

Prior to that, Pendleton Heights had a key conference game on the road at Greenfield-Central Friday, Nov. 16. That’s where the Arabians took care of the Cougars.

The Arabians were led by Dwiggins, who dominated the final quarter of play, quickly putting the game out of reach.

Dwiggins finished with 30 points and 14 rebounds, 10 of those coming on the offensive end. That’s where the 5-foot-11 forward controlled the game, out-muscling, out-positioning and out-hustling the Cougars all game long.

Kailyn Graham and Kylie Davis added 11 points each. Niyah Loomis and Megan Mills had 4 apiece. Leonie Wilson rounded out the scoring with 2.

Lapel

The Lapel varsity girls hoops team was set for a Wednesday 7:30 p.m. game at Alexandria-Monroe High School before taking a few days off or the Thanksgiving break.

Lapel is scheduled for action again for a 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, at Yorktown High School in a Hoosier Heritage Conference showdown.

Prior to that, the Bulldogs played Friday, Nov. 16, in a rival game at Frankton.

The Bulldogs won their fourth in a row with a 42-38 win against their district rival.

Kylie Rich led Bulldogs scoring with 19 points, and Delaney Peoples chipped in 11 points.

Previously, the Bulldogs used a strong defensive effort to hold Elwood to 38 points in a win Tuesday, Nov. 13. It was Lapel’s third win in a row after dropping their season opening game.

Rich led the Bulldogs, scoring 27 of the team’s 86 points. Delaney Peoples also had strong night with a double-double, 15 points and 10 rebounds. Makynlee Taylor and Morgan Knepp each had 12 points.
