Gladys Irene Hiday, 88, Elwood, died Sunday, April 29, 2012, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, following a brief illness. She was born on October 19, 1923, in Westfield, to John and Merree (Mendenhal) Dautrich.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ralph Hiday; two children, Sandra Isaac of Indianapolis and Steven Hiday (fiance, Kelly Sosbe) Elwood; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Donald Salsbery; and a brother, Cloy Dautrich.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Harold Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
