Wilfred E. "Bud" McDonald, 88, Cicero, died on Thursday, June 7, 2012,

at Riverwalk Commons in Noblesville. He was born on May 1, 1924, in Hancock County, Indiana to Edward and Lois (Manship) McDonald.

He was an army veteran of World War II, where he served with the 40th Mechanized Reconnaissance Troup in the Philippines and received a purple heart.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Barbara E. (Shaffer) McDonald; three children, Marsha (Terry) Murray of Cicero, Sharon (Bob) Webb of Noblesville, and Ron (Teri) McDonald of Cicero; one brother, Jack (Marilyn) McDonald of Silver Lake; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; great-great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his second father, Sampson McDonald.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 11, 2012, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Pastor Stephen Passmore

officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
