Leroy E. "Lee" Harger, 87, Noblesville, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis following a brief illness. He was born on April 26, 1925, in Noblesville to Leroy and Luella (Cade) Harger.
He served in the U. S. Army during WWII.
He is survived by three children, Loretta (Phil) McDowell of
Sheridan, Ritch Harger of Noblesville, and Kris (Mike) Blackburn of
Fishers; two grandchildren; and one brother, Billie Jo (Rose) Harger of Noblesville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary M. (Barbee) Harger; and one brother, Don Harger.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Pastor Dawn Cuthbert officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel where the Lapel American Legion will perform military graveside rites. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
